How it All Started

I have been to a lot of events that should have been extraordinary and weren't. Not because anything was wrong, but because nobody stopped to ask what the moment was actually for, or what the person being celebrated actually wanted and needed from that moment.

I'm Selin, the founder of Aoria. I have always been someone who builds worlds out of ideas, and my NYE parties were where that became an obsession. I think a lot about how a room feels before anyone speaks, what the light does, how you carry someone from walking in the door into actually being present for the night.

The event I'm most proud of is my own wedding, planned from Canada at a château in France. Every vendor, every detail, every decision made across time zones and from thousands of kilometres away, and it came together exactly as I'd imagined.

Outside of events, I work as a project manager in tech. I spend my days managing complex projects with a lot of moving parts and multiple teams. I think critically, I plan obsessively, and I bring all of that into every event I take on.
